1985 Yamaha Japan BB3000 Neckthrough Broad Bass (Black)
Japanese made in 1985, the BB-3000 was a brief high-end addition to the Yamaha Broad Bass range. Maple neckthrough construction with an alder body and what the catalog lists as a "striped ebony" fingerboard, it weighs 4.2kg's. Aftermarket routed with a pair of Bartolini J style pickups and an active Bartolini mid control along with a mismatched set of unbranded/Schaller and a Hipshot Bass Xtender drop-tuning system.
This one received a crack around the control cavity during the shipping process that our in-house tech glued, strapped and clamped to ensure that it's rock solid and now it's purely a cosmetic crack with no structural degradation. The frets are smooth and the neck is straight with an adjustable truss, overall it's in very good cosmetic condition aside from the aforementioned repair. Without the repair and the mods this thing would be almost twice the price as it's an incredible high end vintage Japanese bass!
