1983 Tokai Japan SS-38 Silver Star '70's Modified Stratocaster (Black)
Made by Tokai in 1983, this Japanese made Strat was aimed at replicating the CBS models made by Fender in the 70's. Alder body with a maple neck, it features a three-bolt neck plate, oversized headstock and bullet truss rod, weighs 3.3kg's. This one has been modified to a single H loadout with a Tokai TWB-20 humbucker and master volume knob.
Players condition and is ready to be played some more! Routing for the humbucker was done in a DIY fashion by the looks of it but does the job. Brand new pickguard and jack plate installed, received a professional setup and service prior to listing. Frets have plenty of life and the neck is straight.
As pictured, there's some compression in the wood at the neck pocket, it's not a chip and it's sitting perfectly comfortably, it just seems the wood was compressed at some point while the neck was off (or it's had a replacement neck on there at some point).
