Tokai Talbo (Tokai Aluminium Body) guitars were introduced in 1980 and feature a solid aluminium body with a chamber underneath the pickguard (filled with removable foam to eliminate feedback). These were known for having a crystal clear clean tone that resonates beautifully both acoustically and plugged-in. This looks to be a custom order model with a stained maple neck and fingerboard to match the metallic red finish on the body, loaded with a 5-way selector and SSH Gotoh pickups along with a factory upgrade Wilkinson tremolo system, it weighs 3.8kg's.
If you're Australian (and old..), you'll likely recognise these from their use with INXS. Nile Rodgers is rumoured to have put Tim Farriss onto Tokai’s Talbo Blazing Fire. Tim went on to use the Talbo for decades.
Lightly condition as pictured with minor cosmetic wear but no breaks or repairs. Frets have some light play wear but were polished prior to listing along truss adjustment, truss works well and the neck is straight.
