Made by the Fujigen factory in 1975, the EG-1000R was Greco's highest end regular production model at the time (with the EG1200 and EG1500 made as custom orders). Pancake mahogany body with a solid two-piece maple top, gorgeous rosewood fingerboard (although the catalog lists it as ebony) on a slim 60's profile maple neck (12" radius, 44mm nut width, 628mm scale length), it weighs a beefy 4.8kg's. Loaded with the original Maxon U-3000 humbuckers, full sized pots and big ol' tone caps along with the original Grover tuners, it seems close to factory specs with the exception of an aftermarket Gotoh tailpiece and a brand new bone nut.

We've had this one in the warehouse for a while as we were waiting for Mick Harron (of Harron Custom Guitars) to fly up to Sydney and refret it for us and we're glad we were patient. Known for his flawless fretwork, he removed the old frets and corrected the fretboard radius to 12" before loading it with stainless steel medium jumbo frets and a brand new nut and setting it up perfectly with 10-46's.

Good overall vintage condition with some dings and blemishes. It's been loved over the years (which was obvious by how low the frets were when the guitar arrived with us) but well cared for and is one hell of a guitar. There's a small sticker tan on the top of the body and a slight separation in the factory joint near the strap button that both Mick and our tech Vaughan have labelled as a non-structural break.
