Made in Japan in 1980, this is one of the professional grade Springy Sound models made by Tokai. Two-piece curly grain Sen body with a lacquer brown sunburst finish bolted to a very rare* soft V maple neck with a thin veneer rosewood fingerboard (43mm nut width), it weighs 3.8kg's. Loaded with two original pots and one replacement volume tone knob, the ST-Vintage alnico single coils in the neck and middle positions have the "E" stamp on them and there's an aftermarket Bill Lawrence style rail single coil in the bridge position. Controlled by the original three-way selector that's working as it should.

Heavily used vintage condition with loads of wear from plenty of professional level use. The back of the neck feels very played and worn. The frets have some pitting and plenty of playwear but were polished prior to listing and play well (or contact us for a discounted refret quote if you want it to feel brand new), the truss was adjusted and the neck is straight. The logo on the headstock has worn off as pictured but the outline is still visible and theres some sticker tan on the back.

*Usually Springy Sound necks with a maple fingerboard had the V profile and rosewood fingerboards had the '64 C shape profile, making this one of likely a limited run. This is now the second that we've had come through so it's not a one-off.
