2001 Tokai Japan A-145 Talbo Blazing Fire Cast Aluminium Electric Guitar
Tokai Talbo (Tokai Aluminium Body) guitars were introduced in 1980 and feature a solid aluminium body with a chamber underneath the pickguard. These were known for having a crystal clear clean tone that resonates beautifully both acoustically and plugged-in. This is a higher end A-145 model in an electric blue finish all over (super uncommon colour). Rosewood board and a maple neck, loaded with a 5-way selector and a pair of humbuckers, weighs 4.2kg's.
If you're Australian (and old..), you'll likely recognise these from their use with INXS. Nile Rodgers is rumoured to have put Tim Farriss onto Tokai’s Talbo Blazing Fire. Tim went on to use the Talbo for decades:
I use these live and in the studio, I absolutely love them. The tone and sustain achieved with the aluminium design is beautiful. – Tim Farriss
Good used condition with some finish cracks and fading, received a setup by a former Tokai employee prior to listing. Frets are shiny and have plenty of life.
