1991 Burny Japan (Fujigen) RLG-70 Super Grade Les Paul Standard (Iced Tea Burst)
Burny/Fernandes are a Japanese company with a long history of making some of the best Gibson style guitars for those on a budget. This is an exceptional RLG-70 '59 Reissue Les Paul Standard from the Super Grade series that was made in Japan by the Fujigen factory in mid 1991.
Iced tea burst finish with a red-ish tinge, it's a mahogany body and neck with lightly flamed aesthetic on the 2-piece maple cap. 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, '59 style profile neck feels nice and comfortable without being overly thick. Weighs 4.2kg's.
Cosmetically it's in good condition, the back is showing signs of wear with a few bumps and dings, but the top is nice and smooth with very few blemishes on the satin finish.
We professionally built this from the ground up with the help of our two freelance techs. The headstock has had a crack repaired, then been wet sanded/refinished so it's virtually non-existent and we've loaded it with new wiring and some 70's Maxon pickups (as used by the Fujigen factory). Brand new Gotoh vintage style tuners, backplates, bridge and tailpiece and toggle switch installed then received a full setup with a fret polish (plenty of life left in them). Plays great and sounds fantastic, we're incredibly proud of this one!
