1990's Tokai Japan Axis/EVH Store Order Model
This is a bit of a myth, but if you believe the story (which we do) then you'll be rewarded with an incredible guitar.
We received this from a reputable source in Japan with the story that it was made by the Tokai factory in Hamamatsu for a local store. Rumour has it only 12 or so were made, we've managed to track down two other owners and the specs match up on all three! It's designed to replicate the EVH model Musicman from the 1990's, although these are factory routed for a recessed Floyd Rose instead of the top-mount that most Axis models feature.
Birdseye maple neck and fretboard, figured top and gloss finish on the back make it a stunner to look at. Features an authentic asymmetrical neck profile with a deep shape, 648mm scale length with 22 frets, weighs 3.4kg's. Loaded with Dimarzio Airzone pickups, has a truly great sound. Gotoh branded Floyd Rose and tuners keep it in tune well.
Key signs that this ISN'T a cheap OLP copy are the 4-bolt neck with no neckplate and the truss adjustor.
Key signs that this ISN'T a cheap Chinese knock-off are the quality of the construction and components.
Unfortunately there's no markings in the cavities or pockets and no logo/serial number, but you can count on the fact that this is an exceptional build!
Received a full setup and service prior to listing, frets have plenty of life and the neck is straight and smooth.
