1990's Orville (Gibson) Japan LPC-75 '60's Reissue Les Paul Custom (Wine Red)
Made in Japan for Yamano Gakki in the early 1990's (missing the serial number sticker), the Orville LPC-75 was a Japanese built '60's reissue Les Paul Custom made under the instruction of Gibson. Orville models are critically acclaimed as they offer authorised Gibson style and specs coupled with the famous Japanese craftsmanship.
Mahogany body with a maple top, slim 60's mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard, it weighs just over 5kg's. Loaded with the original Japanese humbuckers and hardware, it appears all original except for a replacement jack plate.
This came to us with a very amateur break/repair/refinish on the neck that our tech stripped back to check and reinforce. The area was sanded back to reveal what looks to be a crack in the headstock on the front and back and a large chip on the back of the headstock where the serial sticker would have been. Both areas have been sanded and buffed so they're smooth to the touch and the neck has a really nice smooth satin feel rather than the stickiness of the original gloss. It might not look aesthetic but it's structurally solid and feels very comfortable in the hand.
The frets have some pitting and playwear but they are polished and shiny, the truss adjusts as it should and the neck is straight. Electronics have been flushed and work as they should.
