1990's Jackson Stars Japan Neckthrough Rhoads 7-String w/EMG (Black)
We initially picked this up with plans to refurbish it, but as soon as I plugged it in I knew it had to stay as it was. Made in Japan in the 1990's, this is a neckthrough version of the Rhoads made by Jackson Stars and sold to the domestic market. Maple neck with what looks like a poplar body, 24 fret rosewood fingerboard, 25.5" scale length with a 49mm nut width, it weighs 3.4kg's.
Previous owner modified it with a single active EMG pickup along with a single volume control so it's a simple chug machine and is tuned to drop G#. Paint looks to have been sanded back to satin smooth and an Alexi style cream accent added to the body. Either love it as it is (which I do) or make it your own.
Plays really nicely as it sits with plenty of fret life and light play wear on the frets. Neck is straight and the action is low.
