1989 Aria Pro II Japan (by Tokai) PE-1000 Les Paul (Natural)
Made in the late 1980's after the closure of the Matsumoku factory, this was one of two surviving models from the Aria Pro II PE series when production moved to different factories. Shows every sign of being made by Tokai in Hamamatsu, the PE-1000 was a very well built guitar aimed at taking on the 80's Gibson Les Paul models.
Sen/mahogany/maple stacked body with a carved top and back with a semi-through maple neck and 22 fret rosewood fingerboard. Heel-less cutaway allows for easy access to the higher frets than a standard Les Paul, it's a really beautiful build with some great grain and even a matching wood electronics cavity cover that continues the grain seamlessly.
Loaded with factory AH-2 active humbuckers designed for clarity in the cleans and crunch in the overdrive, three-way switch and a master volume/tone control. Weighs just under 4kg's.
Great overall condition with a small ding on the back being the only real cosmetic wear. Finish is shiny and clear and the hardware is all functional. Frets have mild pitting but were polished prior to listing and have plenty of life left. Fretboard was oiled and the guitar was restrung prior to listing.
