1987 Yamaha Japan Session II 912p MIJ Stratocaster (Fotoflame)
Made in Japan from the mid 1980's, the Session II series were designed as "contemporary" workhorse guitars for professional musicians. Don't let the Yamaha name fool you, these older Japanese made models are exceptional quality and were made in the same city as Tokai and Boss!
The 912P was the top of the range in the 1987 catalog and takes inspiration from the Fender Stratocaster design, but adds a sleekness to the contours for a more comfortable and faster experience. Active HSS electronics system with an on-board mid boost circuit to help cut through muddy mixes.
Sunburst finish with what appears to be a veneer flame (much like the Fender Fotoflame series) loaded with faded gold hardware. Good overall condition with a couple of minor dings. Neck is straight and plays nice and smooth as it sits.
These were an amazing studio guitar when they were released and they've remained an amazing studio guitar now!
