1985 Fender Japan JB-555 Boxer Series Jazz Bass (Black)
Made in Japan by the Fujigen factory in 1985, the JB-555 was a contemporary style Jazz Bass that was part of the Boxer series. Featuring the highly desirable E serial number, these were build with a sleek basswood body bolted to a painted maple neck with a matching headstock and a 20 fret rosewood fingerboard (9.5" radius, 34" scale length, 40mm nut width), it weighs just over 4kg's. Loaded with a pair of factory passive Fender JB pickups controlled by two volume controls, a TBX tone knob (tone boost/cut) and a three-way toggle, this one appears all original except for a new set of knobs.
Restrung and given a professional service prior to listing. Good used condition as pictured with some finish wear and tear from basic use. The back of the body has some scuffing and swirling and there's a few small paint chips. The neck is straight and the frets are shiny with plenty of life, truss works as it should and the electronics were serviced and sound great.
