1983 Squier Japan ST701 JV Series Contemporary Stratocaster (Candy Apple Red)
Some of the most sought after Japanese guitars ever made, the JV series are some of the highest quality vintage Fender guitars to ever come out of Japan and have been steadily rising in value for the last 10 years. The ST701 is one of the highest end models from the Contemporary Series.
Modern red aesthetic on what seems to be an alder body, U shape maple neck and a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (648mm medium scale length, 10" radius). Three Fender Hotrod single coils with a standard five way toggle along with a three-way rotary switch in place of a second tone knob (not sure exactly what switching this does but it's likely series/parallel) give a real modern 80's sound. Weighs 3.6kg's.
Received a basic restring and service prior to listing. Frets were polished and the fretboard was oiled, neck is beautiful and plays super smooth. Great cosmetic condition with only minor signs of use as pictured. Locking nut is missing otherwise it appears all original.
