1983 Squier Japan Contemporary Series ST-551 Stratocaster (Pearl White)
Likely part of the famous Squier JV Series (neckplate has been replaced so it's missing the JV serial, neck date is 1983), this is a Contemporary Series build from the Fujigen factory that's seen plenty of use over the years. Alder body with a smooth maple neck and a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, it weighs 3.7kg's. Looks to have had the electronics replaced (pots date to 1986) with likely aftermarket Alnico pickups in the neck and middle positions and a ceramic single coil in the neck.
Given a basic service prior to listing, frets are shiny and have life with some light pitting, truss is adjustable and the neck is straight. Pots were flushed but can still be a little scratchy, pickup switch is noisy and could use replacing. A great mod platform to create an absolute gem of a vintage guitar or a nice players guitar as it sits.
