1983 Aria Pro II Japan SB-R80 Neckthrough Bass (Brown Sunburst)
From the famous Aria Pro II SB series that were favoured by people like Marcus Miller, Cliff Burton and John Taylor, this is a higher end SB-R80 model made in January 1983. A Canadian ash body with a maple/walnut transmit neck and rosewood fingerboard, these have a beautifully contoured neck heel and are a breeze to play. The R model plays with a wider string spacing than the regular SB model (44mm nut width, 24 frets, 860mm scale length). Loaded with a pair of MB-II pickups controlled by a pair of concentric tone/volume pots, a three-way selector and independent "dual sound" toggles. Weighs 4.5kg's.
Great condition as pictured with a nice glossy finish that shows only mild wear/checking. Neck is straight and it's loaded with new strings, truss works as it should and the frets have plenty of life with some mild pitting. Pots are original and can have some light scratching but nothing hugely detrimental.
