1982 Yamaha Japan SR-550S Super R'nroller MIJ Stratocaster w/Hard Case
Meet your new favourite Japanese stratocaster! The Yamaha SR-550S was made in 1982, which is considered by many to be the peak of Japanese "Fender" style instruments. These early 80's models feature some great headstock style and text with a real tongue-in-cheek Fender look.
Only available for a year or so, the SR-550S featured an Alder body and one-piece Maple neck. This one was finished in "Metallic Red" and has faded to almost a dark pink finish that matches the aged maple neck and pickguard perfectly. Honestly one of the nicest looking Japanese stratocaster's I've ever seen. Also features a round string tree, Kluson style tuners and "single bobbin pickups" that are all original. Weighs 3.4kg's.
The guitar has spent a while locked up in storage. We completely disassembled, cleaned and serviced the guitar before giving it a professional set up. The finish is vibrant, the frets have plenty of life, the neck plays nicely and the electronics all work well. Includes the original hard case, manual, tremolo arm and some other case candy.
