1980's Fresher Japan "Mercury" ('66 Reissue Mustang)
Fresher guitars were built in the famous Matsumoto region of Japan throughout the 1970's and were sold by Kyowa (responsible for importing Charvel, Jackson, Takamine etc). This Mercury model is from the late 70's and is part of the second generation of Fresher models, which were a big upgrade from their earlier models with build quality and specs moving much closer to the Fender and Gibson models they were replicating.
Aged white finish with what looks to be a basswood body, maple neck and thick slab rosewood fingerboard. 610mm scale length with 22 frets and a 41mm nut width, it's got that nice Mustang pop and compact feel. Vintage style tuners, functional Mustang tremolo and three-way toggles for period correct Mustang switching, this honestly looks and feels like a vintage Fender! Weighs 3.6kg's.
Good vintage condition with a few dings as pictured. Received a full professional setup prior to listing and plays nicely, truss is functional and neck is straight. Frets have plenty of life left, electronics are all original.
