1980 Yamaha Japan PB-400 Pulser Precision Bass (Sunburst)
Reverb.com described the Yamaha Pulser Bass series in an article about "Hidden Bass Gems of the 80's and 90's", here's an excerpt:
"Produced in the 1980s, the Yamaha Pulser basses were more or less direct clones of a Fender P bass from the 1970s. Many of these basses utilized and ash/maple body and neck combination, equipped with a classically voiced pickup to match the overall vibe of this bass. The basses were well put together, and current pricing makes these basses well worth the cost to own. The design is fairly standard and won’t really set you apart in a crowd, but for anyone seeking a classic-looking and sounding P bass at a reasonable rate, an older Yamaha Pulser is a good one to consider."
Sunburst finish on a sen ash body with a maple neck that's aged to a satin feel. Weighs a hefty 4.2kg's and has a nice strong output from the original P bass pickup. Tidy vintage condition as pictured, restrung with prior to listing along with a basic setup and a truss adjustment. Has new tuners installed along with a replacement knob.
