1980 Yamaha Japan AE-1200 Hollowbody Jazz Electric Guitar (Antique Stain)
Japanese made in 1980, the AE-1200 was a high end Jazz sized hollowbody from Yamaha. Bound beech top/back with a laminate spruce top, slim C profile mahogany neck and a bound 20 fret ebony fingerboard (12" radius, 628mm scale length), it weighs 3.5kg's. Loaded with the original pots and Yamaha branded pickups (both with coil splits on push-pull tone pots), this one has two new tone capacitors installed as the originals had dried up. Features 5 aftermarket Grover tuners (and one generic one) along with an aftermarket Tokai factory NOS ebony tailpiece and some replacement knobs.
Received a full professional clean and setup prior to listing, plays and sounds great with shiny frets and a straight neck with an adjustable truss. The frets have some reasonably heavy wear in some spots, contact us for a refret quote prior to purchase and we can do you a good deal through our professional in-house tech. Some light wear in the clear coat but otherwise it's very clean for its age.
