1980 Greco Japan BC-1800 Custom Order Neckthrough Mockingbird (Natural Koa)
Custom ordered from the Fujigen factory in late 1980, the Greco BC series were aimed at emulating some of the high end Mockingbird models being made by BC Rich. These models were made in extremely limited numbers and usually hide in the hands of the collectors who snap them up!
The BC-1800 was a very high end build with a Hawaiian Koa/Maple neckthrough construction matched to what appears to be an ebony fingerboard (24 frets, 43.5mm nut width) with traditional BC Rich style inlays, it weighs 3.6kg's. Loaded with the original Grover tuners, wraparound intonate-able tailpiece, Varitone boost circuit and Dimarzio style humbuckers.
Given a full professional service and setup prior to listing, appears all original as pictured. The frets are shiny and smooth and the neck is straight with a fully adjustable truss. Arrived to us with a very small hairline crack near the headstock that we had professionally repaired by our in-house tech. It's a rock solid repair that's been buffed and is smooth to the touch.
