1979 Yamaha Japan SG500 Vintage Electric Guitar (Black)
Since its debut in 1974, the Yamaha SG has been the choice of some of the most influential guitarists. From its rich tone and long sustain to its outstanding playability and stunning design, all of its signature characteristics have stood the test of time, remaining relevant to this day.
This is a 1979 model Yamaha SG500 in black (with yellowed binding and accents) that was designed as a professional quality Les Paul slayer. Lightly carved maple top and a mahogany back with a three-piece maple neck and rosewood fingerboard (22 frets), weighs 4.3kg's.
Received a professional setup and service prior to listing and appears all original apart from some new tailpiece posts and a new output jack. Frets are shiny and have plenty of life, neck is straight and smooth. Has some cosmetic wear and tear as pictured and some blemishes to the finish but it plays nicely, dings on the neck (pictured) are shallow and smooth.
If you're a Les Paul person and want to try something familiar but a little different then this is the ticket!
