1979 Greco SE-500 Super Sounds Stratocaster Electric Guitar Japan MIJ (Sunburst)
The SE-500 Super Sounds was one of the more popular models from Greco's 1979 Stratocaster range. Brown sunburst three-piece Sen body with a maple neck and fingerboard, loaded with Maxon EXCEL pickups that'll blow you away. A great 1957 inspired model for sure!
Great overall condition with a smooth straight neck and polished frets. Minimal cosmetic wear and tear and some light patina to the hardware. A very good example of a nicely kept 70's Greco!
With the poor quality coming out of the Fender factory in the 1970's, buying a Japanese guitar from this period can be a much better choice. The Japanese factories were producing high quality instruments throughout the 1970's, whereas the cost-cutting measures that CBS had implemented on Fender had a huge impact on the quality and consistency of their instruments. If you're after a vintage Fender-style guitar from the 1970's then you'll save money and gain quality in buying a Japanese guitar like this!
