Description:
The Boss DB-5 Driver was a three-in-one gain/tone booster featuring a compressor, 5-band graphic EQ and fuzz/drive circuit. Contrary to what the name may suggest, the DB-5 Driver is best known for it's sub-octave style fuzz tones and swelling compression.
The DB-5 featured a toggle to switch between the three modes:
- Equalizer
- Attack and EQ
- Distortion and EQ
The EQ section features individual sliders to boost/cut 12dB's of 100, 300, 600, 1.2K and 3KHz. The Attack and Distortion functions use a simple one knob control to set the level of distortion or compression (depending on the mode selected).
The DB-5 was not a popular pedal when it was released and is now one of the rarest Boss products around.
