1977 Aria Pro II PB-400N Precise Bass (Defretted Precision Bass) - Made in Japan
The Aria Pro II range was full of a wide range of incredible Fender style guitars and basses made to a high standard in Japan's Matsumoku factory throughout the mid to late 1970's. This PB-400N is one of your best opportunities to get a high quality vintage fretless bass that wears a sub-$1000 pricetag.
This PB-400N features a seldom seen alder body (many Japanese bass models used ash/sen bodies) and weighs in at 4.2kg's. The maple fretboard was professionally sanded back and the fret slots were puttied by our bass tech, so there's no wear on the board at all. The neck itself is smooth and straight, plays great as it sits with roundwound strings or grab your favourite flatwounds and slide your way up and down the board all day long!
The pickguard was painted white by the previous owner, could easily be stripped back to the original (likely black) colour. The rest of the cosmetics are clean and tidy with a few dings here and there.
