1976 Westminster Japan Precision Bass Matsumoku P-Bass (Natural)

Made in the famous Matsumoku factory in the mid 70's. Not sure which countries Westminster was marketed for (possibly the UK?) but they're the same quality and craftsmanship as the Greco, Washburn and Aria guitars being produced at the time by Matsumoku. This one weighs in at 3.8kg's and seems to use a Sen body (Japanese ash) and a maple neck. Nice tight P-bass neck profile and plenty of grunt in the pickups, it's seemingly all original and playing/sounding great.
With the poor quality coming out of the Fender factory in the 1970's, buying a Japanese guitar from this period can be a much better choice. The Japanese factories were producing high quality instruments throughout the 1970's, whereas the cost-cutting measures that CBS had implemented on Fender had a huge impact on the quality and consistency of their instruments. If you're after a vintage Fender-style guitar from the 1970's then you'll save money and gain quality in buying a Japanese guitar like this!
