1976 Westminster Japan (Matsumoku) SA-280R Hollowbody (Cherry Red)
Made by the Matsumoku factory in Japan in February 1976, this Westminster branded SA-280R was a recreation of the Gibson ES-335 in Cherry Red. Westminster guitars were seemingly sold primarily to the Japanese market so there's not many in the Western world. Full hollowbody construction with a mahogany top, back, sides and neck and a rosewood fingerboard. Weighs just 2.6kg's!
Open book headstock and block inlays give it a very traditional aesthetic, it's loaded with the original pickups and original hardware that's all in great shape. Slim 60's style neck profile is comfortable and smooth.
We gave it a setup prior to listing including a truss adjustment and a fret polish so the neck is straight and the frets play well with minimal pitting.
