1976 Fernandes FST-70 Stratocaster MIJ Japan (Candy Apple Red)
1976 Fernandes FST-70
One of the more desirable Fender style guitars from the mid 1970's, the Fernandes FST series were some of the earliest competitive copies. Featuring the famous Fender font logo, large 70's headstock and bullet truss rod, maple neck and a nice heavy a 3 piece, 2 ply silver heartwood body! Weighs in at 4.4kg's. A fantastically crafted CBS style guitar that won't break the bank!
With the poor quality coming out of the Fender factory in the 1970's, buying a Japanese guitar from this period can be a much better choice. The Japanese factories were producing high quality instruments throughout the 1970's, whereas the cost-cutting measures that CBS had implemented on Fender had a huge impact on the quality and consistency of their instruments. If you're after a vintage Fender-style guitar from the 1970's then you'll save money and gain quality in buying a Japanese guitar like this!
