1970's Gibson USA J-50 Acoustic Guitar (Natural) w/Fishman Pickup
Made in the USA in the early 1970's, this is the short-lived revised model of the J-50 with the dreadnought shape that stepped away from the J-45 style design. Spruce top with mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, it weighs just under 2kg's. 43mm nut width with a 2.5mm action on the low E string at the 12th fret, it plays very comfortably with a slim 60's style neck profile. Still wears the original Gibson Deluxe tuners, original nut and bell truss rod cover, the previous owner had a Fishman pickup installed with the output jack on the strap button.
This is a players grade guitar that received a full professional service and setup here prior to listing. A small hole in the body was steamed and filled before being sanded and polished along with a repair to the top where the spruce has separated slightly due to some pickguard shrinkage (glued, clamped and cleated). Frets are shiny and smooth and the truss is adjustable, plays well with a nice straight neck. Has an incredibly loud and clear tone to it and is perfect for someone looking for a rock solid player.
