1960's Yamaha Japan SA-30 Super Axe Hollowbody Electric Guitar (Sunburst)
Made in the 1960's by Yamaha in Japan in an attempt to join the increasing guitar market, the SA30 is a classic hollowbody design. Quirky hollowbody shape with two F holes (factory covered with an inlay to reduce feedback) and a full hollow construction, weighs only 3kg's. Maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with a 24.75" scale length (including a zero-fret) and thumbnail inlays.
Received a full rebuild and service by John Romeo (Guitars by Romeo) to get it up to standard. Reglued some laminate lifting and clamped some of the frets back in so it's playing nice and smooth. Previous owner removed the tremolo system and also has a new bridge installed. Pickups were replaced with unknown humbuckers and the tuners are now vintage Yamaki branded. Has signs of a neck repair at the joint, but has the all clear as rock solid from two professional techs.
A players guitar in every sense, well worth the money for someone who can see this for the amazing vintage instrument that it is!
