1960's Yamaha Japan FG180 (Red Label) Acoustic Guitar
The legendary Yamaha FG180 is one of the most desirable and iconic acoustic guitars of all time and was most famously used by Elliot Smith during his live shows. One of the very collectable 'Red Label' models, this one dates somewhere in the late 60's and has been loved over the years.
Spruce top, mahogany neck and sides with a rosewood fingerboard. Previous owner installed a 9v pickup system with a jack built in to the strap button, sounds great.
Frets were polished and truss was adjusted prior to listing, has a smooth low action and good intonation. Well used as pictured but seems structurally rock solid and has a great vintage look and feel. Like most old acoustics it has some ski-ramp on the higher frets but nothing impacting on playability at all. Includes hard case.
