1980 Yamaha Japan SG-1000 Double Cutaway (Cherry Sunburst)
Considered by many as an upgrade to the standard Les Paul design, the Yamaha SG series are some of the fullest sounding guitars you'll ever play. This SG-1000 was a mid range model in the 1980 catalog and is a step up from the entry level models in specs. Weighing in at 4.1kg's, it's built with a mahogany body with a 2-piece maple cap, slim 60's maple/mahogany set neck and an ebony fretboard (12" radius, 628mm scale length, 43mm nut width).
Loaded with the original Yamaha tailpiece and tuners with an aftermarket tune-o-matic bridge, this one has the original SGH-1SOB pickups with the push/push coil split switches on the tone knobs.
Well used vintage condition as pictured with plenty of signs of cosmetic wear from use, no repairs or breaks though. Received a basic setup and service including fretboard oil, fret polish and electronics service. Frets are in reasonable condition for it's age and have life left.
