1975 Greco Japan EG-700 Les Paul Standard (Sunburst)
Made by the Fujigen factory in 1975, this is one of the first models made when the Greco EG series was truly replicating the Gibson Les Paul. Two piece maple cap with a maple neck, mahogany body and rosewood fingerboard, it weighs a nice hefty 4.4kg’s.
This one has seen some pretty heavy professional use over the years. Modified with a disconnected neck pickup and a hot-rails style humbucker in the bridge, aftermarket Gotoh tuners and bridge along and a vintage Russian PIO tone capacitor. Missing the cavity and truss covers as pictured.
Frets are worn but shiny and play fine as they sit, truss works as it should and the neck is reasonably straight. Either enjoy it as it sits or get stuck into a great project and take it wherever you’d like!
