1976 Maxon/Greco PT-999 Phase Tone Vintage MIJ Japan Phaser Pedal w/Box
The Maxon PT-999 was first seen around 1975 alongside the original D&S, Flying Pan and even the much larger and more complex PT-707. There's no hiding the fact that this release had it's sights set on surpassing the MXR Phase 90. The iconic orange colour, the single knob simplicity, the script font and a majority of the circuitry all resemble MXR's earlier design.
The 1976 catalog featured 3 pedals (PT-950, Blubber Wah and PT-999) with the "Greco Makes It" branding. Why did they choose these ones? Who knows. Especially when around the same time there was a OEM blue version of the PT-999 floating around with Greco branding called the PT-900.
