1989 Fender Japan Standard Stratocaster w/Dimarzio (Black)
Made by the Fujigen factory in Japan in the mid 1980's, this is a 22 fret contemporary model Stratocaster (648mm scale length). Unlike many Japanese builds, these weren't made as a reissue of any specific year models and were aimed at replicating the current standard model (known as the "American Standard") of the time. Features a smooth maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, basswood body and weighs 3.5kg's. Plays with a nice smooth standard C profile.
This one has been reloaded with a new pickguard and wiring, it's sporting a pair of what look like Fender USA single coils (black/white cloth wire) and a Dimarzio "The Chopper" humbucker in the bridge position.
Received a basic setup prior to listing and plays well with a nice action. Frets were polished and the fretboard was oiled/conditioned, frets have life left with minimal pitting. Truss is functional and the neck is straight.
