1971 Fender Mustang Bass
If there's one group of guitars that have skyrocketed in popularity over the years, it's well-made vintage "student" instruments. This is a great example of an original 70's Mustang bass (with the genuine tuners, not the PJ ones that most of the modern models have!). Released in 1966 as the bass equivalent of the Mustang, the Mustang Bass was the last original bass designed by Leo Fender before his departure from the company in 1965. The Mustang Bass has a short 30" scale and a single split pickup (similar to the Precision Bass), one volume and one tone control, with strings-through-body routing.
This particular bass is in stellar condition and plays terrifically. Was professionally refinished by Frank Grubisa in Sydney a few years ago with great detail including an aged competition stripe, i can't stress enough just how good this looks! Currently set up with flatwounds, the neck is straight and plays nice and smooth. Has a visible ding on the back of the neck but barely noticeable to play. Electronics function well, pickup and wiring seems all original.
Please note: this guitar is on consignment. Specific questions will be relayed to the owner. Genuine buyers can request pics of the neck pocket and cavity etc.
Includes a hard case.
