1984 Aria Pro II Japan SB Elite-I Electric Bass (Pearl White)
The Aria Pro II Elite-I is the simplified model from one of the best Japanese bass ranges to ever come out of the Matsumoku factory. Favoured by bass legends including Cliff Burton, Jack Bruce and John Taylor, the Elite II was one of the highest end instruments in the 1984 catalog. Alder body with a smooth maple transmit neck (and heel-less cutaway) and a rosewood 24 fret fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlays. Weighs just over 4.5kg's.
Factory loaded with a MB-II double-coil pickup with a volume/tone control along with a dual-sound toggle. Narrow 41mm brass nut with a reasonably slim neck profile.
Reasonable vintage condition as pictured with a few bumps and some rusting/patina on the hardware. Truss cover is missing, otherwise it seems all original. Given a restring and basic setup/service prior to listing, the neck is straight and the truss adjusts well, the frets are shiny and play smoothly.
