1974 Greco Japan JB-500S Jazz Bass (Sunburst)
Made in Japan in 1974, the Greco JB-500S was their take on the 70's model Fender Jazz Bass. Sunburst ash body with a bound maple neck (with black block inlays), it weighs in at a very nice 4.8kg's.
It's had the two volume pots and output jack replaced along with a new "Tropical Fish" tone capacitor, but it's loaded with the original pickups and sounds great. Has an aged gold control plate and a Fender USA bridge to match.
We gave it a teardown and restring prior to listing. The frets were polished and play nicely with a smooth action. Neck has a slight hump around the 10th fret but shows no signs of any dead notes. The neck also has a slight sideways warp (hard to picture) that was common with a lot of 70's Fender models, still plays well though. Sold as-is.
